My Journey for Window replacement.

I just want to share my experience. And hopely somebody helps!

1. My Window replacement schedule was Feb 9 to 14. which include Sat, Sun.
9 - Wednesday
10 - Thursday
11 - Friday
12 - Sat
13 - Sun
14 - Mon

2. Feb, 8, 2022 - Tuesday.
Before starting their construction work, they came to my home at 2PM and wanted to prepare for their work, such as covering my furniture using plastics and putting their footpath on my floor. It takes an hour.
But the problem was.... the smell...
After they use plastic vinyl all over my home, the smell makes me really crazy. And I saw so many holes in the plastic which I don't think it will cover all the dust. Me and my wife can't even eat food and sleep all over the night because of the smell and dust. It made us dry our throat so that we cough from time to time while sleeping that night.

3. Feb, 9, 2022 - Wednesday
I already made an appointment at Graduate hotel (Feb 9 to 11) a month ago, which is the most closed hotel from my home. I should leave at 7AM with my wife before they come to my place. Me and my wife were really upset. It's winter and really cold outside. I woke up at 5:30 and packed my luggage. I went to the hotel and I should have to check-in earlier and I pay 94$ more. To me, there was no place to go at 6 or 7AM. Also, my wife is currently pregnant. Where can we go except for the hotel? Starbuks? and check in 10 hours after? Graduate hotel check in time is 4PM

4. Feb, 10, 2022 - Thursday
we had great time at Graduate hotel. and was really nice weather.

5. Feb, 11, 2022 - Friday
Check out 11 AM from Graduate hotel. we went back at 11 AM and check my home. It was not done yet. there are still plastics cover all over my home. and I requested to clean it up. We went to the city. had a great time and went back 3:30PM again. They took it out every plastics but dust. Dust was really bad. It was all around even inside of closet and cabinets. we need to go to launday for the all the towels. I have no idea why they cover the plastic dam things. We start clean at 4 PM and finished 10:30 PM

6. Feb, 14, 2022 - Monday
I'm not sure about Monday but some said they will come again to check if something wrong or fix. Hopely nothing happens. will update it.

7. Tips.
1. If it is possible, go to the hotel or somewhere the day before the window replacement.
2. After the installation of the window, blinds are not the responsibility of window workers, but we need to install the blinds right away. So call the office or front to set it up before you go or just after you arrive at your home.

I picked the "Roosevelt island retreat" event and it was 130$ per day.

3. There are some lock tools in the new windows. According to the NY law, it is because of kids or children. Even after they have finished your window replacement, you can't open your window wide. I can only open small spaces because of the locking tools. If you don't have kids, call the office. Then, window workers will take them out.
4. Control your mind. We were really mad. but.. try to be positive as possible as you can.
